Frequently Asked Questions...and Answers
HAVE QUESTIONS? WE HAVE ANSWERS.
Do you always recommend replacing old equipment?
Not at all. My business was founded on the belief that many systems are replaced prematurely by larger companies. If a boiler, heat pump, water heater, or plumbing fixture can be safely and reliably repaired to extend its lifespan, I will always provide that option first. My goal is to save you money, not meet a sales quota.
What is the benefit of hiring a solo operator vs. a large plumbing company?
When you call us, you get the owner and master technician on every single job—not a junior apprentice or a commission-based salesperson. This ensures a higher level of accountability, personalized service, and the technical expertise required for complex mechanical repairs that bigger "volume-based" shops often avoid.
Can you handle complex mechanical and heating systems?
Yes. In addition to standard residential plumbing, I specialize in mechanical systems including hydronic (water-based) heating, boilers, and radiant floor systems. I enjoy the troubleshooting aspect of these complex systems and take pride in diagnosing issues that others might misinterpret as a "total system failure."
How do I know if my water heater should be repaired or replaced?
Generally, if the tank itself is leaking, a replacement is necessary. However, if the issue is a faulty heating element, a broken thermostat, or a failed pilot light, these are often simple, cost-effective repairs. I will provide an honest assessment of the unit's age and condition so you can make an informed decision.
What areas do you serve, and how quickly can you respond?
I primarily serve Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, University Place, and Sumner. Because I am a one-man operation, I manage my own schedule to ensure I never rush a job. I recommend texting for the fastest response regarding non-emergency repairs or to schedule a consultation.
